Starting with construction of the cassette, Campagnolo manufacture the two bigger sets of three from a machined single-block piece for lighter weight and better durability. Not only that, the cassette is stiffer as a result, helping improve shifting performance as well as decreasing the chance of the cassette flexing under load, leading to premature wear. To compliment this, the cassette features a new surface treatment that is hard-wearing and reduces friction.
