Review: My wife and I own the 3000 and the 2000 versions of these Excell carbon PHS bats. I use the 3000 and my wife uses the 2000 but by swapping bats it is possible to do a double comparison - the handling of each bat when delivering and also the response that it makes when receiving from the same opponent. Both bats are equally well made and are light and responsive in use. The 3000 has a softer feel to the rubbers and this enables the player with more knowledge of spin to use it to good effect. The downside of course, is that it also responds to the opponent's spin so the player who uses this bat must be able to control spin both in giving and receiving. The 2000 is less responsive to spin, both giving and receiving and the rubbers have a stiffer feel. This bat suits a player who prefers a straighter approach to delivery with more emphasis upon directional play rather than relying more upon spin. The bat is also a better defence against an opponent's spin for the same reasons. As a more experienced player than my wife, and one who learnt to play against and from players who used spin, I have found the 3000 to be a bat that fits my play naturally. The 2000 has proved to be a good choice for my wife. It is harder to use spin effectively against her when she uses the 3000 and I use the 2000 simply because it is more difficult to generate spin against her with the 2000. However, when sufficient spin was generated, my wife found it difficult to control the ball as it hit the 3000. In conclusion, both bats are superb and preference should be based upon the use and knowledge of spin as a giver and receiver.

Review: I have had this since April and use it on average once every 2weeks. The edges of the faces started to peel and chip a bit early on. It is quite heavy as bats go and is good to use with a nice feel. Tape around the bat edge is also starting to peel by the handle.
