Review: My son needed a bigger bike with gears transitioning from a balance/pedal conversion bike. When we entered the shop we immediately fell in love with how this bike looks (We bought the dark blue version and call it the Spitfire :) and the detail to craftsmanship was awesome. The cables running from the front to the back are running internal in the frame. There is also a sturdy guard to protect the derailleur in case the bike is dropped on it's side. Our 5 year old son is very comfortable and confident on it and we are able to ride very long distances (10-20km/day) with it. But after a week of riding we started to hear a rattling sound coming from the bike. Upon inspection the clear plastic chain guard that is attached to the wheel hub at the rear wheel was loose and moving freely. Upon closer look I saw some cracks at the centre of the piece and concluded that somehow it broke off. Not entirely sure why this happened but I know it wasn't because of any accident or brute force because our son never dropped it or fell off (he was very careful, still is).
