The wider range and 10-tooth start mean that when used with the new Red AXS DUB chainsets, the XG-1290 can be used with smaller chainrings to offer the same equivalent gears, with a 50t chainring providing the equivalent gear of a 55t chainring when used with a regular cassette with an 11t start.
