Review: There seem to be two versions of these, with and without the "flat lip" [and matching flattened face opposite], and then they have various logos added so I just found the cheapest - the Amazon price seems to change every time you refresh the page and yesterday someone was asking £20 plus P+P!! Perhaps they're not all the same though as a review elsewhere suggested the silver one was bare metal while most photos, even of Tortec branded ones, make them look very glossy as if they were just lacquered, but my silver Tortec one has an attractive satin finish which matches my bike pretty well, as does its rather retro style - some colourful over-designed hi-tech job would look out of place on my old bike. It's not the best finished or best made thing I've ever bought but it looks good enough and must be virtually unbreakable, weighs a mere 1.5oz if you're as old as I am and for £1.94 and, rather absurdly, £1.95 P+P, it would be churlish to complain. [I see you can spend over £100 on bottle cage!] It even came first class post, and arrived long before the predicted delivery date from Parkers of Bolton. This is my first bottle cage and I wish I'd bought one sooner as it's much so better than carrying a bottle or flask in a rucksack - easier to take a drink and more comfortable. Highly recommended. Obviously this is of no use if you're wanting to snatch a swig mid-race, but if you're the type who prefers a cold drink or a hot tea when you stop to read the map or take in the view can I suggest the 500ml ThermaChill flask. I got one from B+M for under £4, but there's absolutely no branding on it. [Stick on a fancy logo and tell your friends it's "cycling specific" and cost £80.] I do wonder how long it can last at that price but at the moment it is perfect with this cage, kept my drink hot over a two hour ride and only weighs 300g. It has a silicone grip which can be moved so that it matches both contact points with the bottle cage and means it's held in place very securely. I went over some rough ground yesterday and though it vibrated like mad the flask didn't move one millimeter in the cage. I lost my pump though, which shows how bumpy the track was. Presumably any bottle would be pretty secure once the cage is bent to make it a good fit, but that silicone must help a lot. The photo shows the bottle cage with the now redundant black pump bracket between it and my muddy bike frame. And don't by put off the flask by the drop of water, it doesn't leak [yet], I'd just washed it.

Review: Not the same tubular design as the picture. Has a flattened Tortec branded section to the upper part. Feel vey flimsy.
