Review: So, I have just had my first bar and I can say I will be buying more. I was initially a little worried these would be super chewy or firm after reading other comments…thinking, bye teeth! But, I stuck one in the microwave for 10/20 seconds and it softened up and become edible. Tasted pretty good too. Imagine you use 2scoops of protein powder and add a couple of spoons of oats - that’s the density of these bars. Saying that, they don’t come across powdery at all. Certainly worth a go, though, I can’t imagine chewing through these without warming up in winter as they feel so firm.

Review: After purchasing 2 boxes: BIrthsay Cake, and Red Velvet flavors. Trying the Warrior protein brand for the first time I can say these were quite average. This is with regards to all features of the bar; taking into account the macros as well. The texture is as you would expect in a normal original oaty flapjack bar, full of oats and quite dense/stodgy. Which makes this bar quite bland and has no coating of chocolate or icing, or chocolate chunks to vary the texture as well as add flavour. The second feature being taste; very artificial and superficially sweetened. Which is very obvious if you are not used to eating sweetners like sucralose. Which these include alongside a small volume of Stevia; a natural sweetener, which I definitely prefer to any artificial sweetener anyday. The ratio is probably due to the fact that Stevia is a much more expensive alternative to Sucralose; which is way more commonly used in the market to produce a sweetened taste in a protein bar, without the added expense. With explains the cheaper price of these protein bars, when compared to other more expensive brands. The packaging and marketing is very clever and is much more attractive than the protein bar itself which is quite embarrassing. I was expecting a more colorful or varied appearance to the protein bar. Even the birthday cake bar had very little sprinkles, which were not even attached to the bar well so fell off straight after opening. The presentation of the bar itself needs to be improved and more diverse, to match the marketing and flavors advertised on the wrapper. As at the moment I am not seeing any resemblance. My main reason for purchasing these protein bars was due to the macros and decent protein content; not as much Fibre as a normal protein bar, and would have preferred higher, than a mere 3 grams or so for over 200 calories. The protein content is not the best on the market; (20 grams for over 200 cals), for the calories, but it is decent for a post strength training snack after a meal. I may or may not purchase these protein bars again, I will have to see in the future. But I would not purchase if you're big on flavour, as these protein bars are just average, and do their job of protein replenishment only. Would much rather have the actual cake itself if I wanted a dessert.
