Review: UPDATE - not even 6 months use and MAYBE 700 miles and the right shifter is refusing to shift through all the gears. did a rear derailleur adjustment at LBS and within an hour, the shifter was back at being cranky. mine are paired with GRX 812 rear derailleur and a 1x11 GRX 40t crankset. this is HUGELY disappointing that between the rear D and shifters alone, the cost was over $500 and the shifting is worse than crappy low end Claris groupo. i DO NOT RX. These are my 2nd Ultegra shifters, first were 6800 and are amazing. The handles are more ergonomic and tidy, and super easy to flick, but are a taller profile than what it looked like in pics. They're not super comfortable riding in the drops - much harder casing, but they'll do. This kit came with housing, shift and brake cables, and all the ferrules and stops your heart desires for installation of 2x11 drive train. I only needed the brakes and a rear d cable for a 1x set up, but was grateful not to have to spend more on $$$ on them. Though better after the mechanic adjusted brakes, they still squeeze back farther than any other shifter I have used. More on that below. These still perform like Ultegra of old in terms of crisp shifting, but there are times I got ghost shifts into the next higher gear, which could be more chain/RD related. In fact, my RD has a clutch mechanism so with it engaged, it may prevent that. Front braking feels squishy and the rear is better but brake housing is knocking about in the frame (could be it needs compressionless housing as I mentioned). Mech warned me that the levers will come a lot farther back when I squeeze them. On my first ride, they sure do - terrifyingly so. With bar tape added, this will just not work at all long term and am taking it back to the mechs for adjustment on all the above. Will update to see if whether over time, these hold up.
